What makes this residency different?

Starting your career in primary care can feel both exciting and overwhelming. Our residency is designed to ease that transition by offering 13 months of real‑world clinical experience, structured mentorship, and dedicated learning time, all within a supportive, collaborative environment.

Residents join a care team that serves patients across the lifespan and experience the full scope of family practice. Through hands‑on training, specialty rotations, and close guidance from experienced providers, participants build the skills, resilience, and confidence needed to thrive as independent clinicians.

As a resident, you will:

  • Care for a panel of complex patients alongside a dedicated preceptor and learn from the expertise of our diverse primary care team
  • Rotate through specialty areas including women’s health, pediatrics, psychiatry, acute care, substance use disorder services, outreach care, and cardiology
  • Learn during weekly dedicated study time, including clinical workshops, health equity learning, and leadership development
  • Grow professionally through The Learning Well, La Clinica’s education program providing training on resiliency, well‑being, leadership, and equitable care
  • Complete a project focused on quality improvement or health equity
