The 2025 Convocation and Awards ceremony will be held on Monday, June 16, 2025, at 9 a.m. in the Alaska Airlines Arena at Hec Edmundson Pavilion.
The event will be livestreamed for guests who cannot attend in-person, and the recording will be available afterwards.

Parking information
For those attending the convocation ceremony, convenient parking is available nearby.
The nearest visitor parking lot is E18, located just north of the Intramural Activities Building (IMA). From there, walk south toward Alaska Airlines Arena, where the ceremony will take place.

How to RSVP
Graduates RSVP
Graduates must register for both graduation ceremonies, even if they plan to attend only one. Please RSVP for both events by May 25, 2025, to ensure orders are placed and your name appears in the School of Nursing Convocation program. Click the following two registration links to RSVP:
Step 1: UW Commencement Registration
- On Saturday, June 14, 2025, the University of Washington will honor the graduating class of 2025 at the University’s 150th Annual Commencement Exercises. Over 7,400 graduates will take the field at the magnificent Husky Stadium to the cheers and applause of 50,000 family members and friends. This registration enables you to order your cap and gown, purchase tickets, parking permits, and more.
- When you pick up your regalia from the bookstore, ensure that all the ordered items are included.

Step 2: School of Nursing Convocation Registration
- On Monday, June 16, 2025, the School of Nursing will proudly honor its graduates at the convocation ceremony. Join us as we celebrate the achievements of our future nursing professionals with a memorable event filled with joy and applause. Family and friends will gather to cheer on the graduates as they embark on their next exciting journey. Don’t miss this special occasion!

FAQs
Is graduation regalia required?
Yes, regalia is required to participate in the School of Nursing Convocation and UW Commencement ceremonies.
Do I have to participate?
No; participation is completely optional.
Will this cost anything?
Unless you purchase (vs. rent) regalia, souvenir items, or parking passes through the UW Office of Ceremonies, there is no cost to you or your guests.
When and where is the ceremony?
The ceremony will take place at Hec Edmundson Pavilion at Alaska Airlines Arena at 9 a.m. on Monday, June 16, 2025.
We will also offer a live stream of the event.
I completed the UW Commencement survey. Is that all I have to do?
You need to complete two surveys: the UW Commencement survey (for regalia, parking, and tickets) and the UW School of Nursing survey (to RSVP for Convocation and request guest ADA accommodations).
If you’re unsure whether you’ve RSVP’d for the nursing ceremony, contact sonceremony@uw.edu as soon as possible.
Will a recording be available to watch later?
Yes, a ceremony recording will be available after the live broadcast.
Do I need tickets?
Tickets are not required for the School of Nursing ceremony, but are required for UW Commencement.
Is there a limit on the number of guests I can invite?
No, there is no guest limit for the School of Nursing Convocation.
Can my partner/child/friend walk with me in the processional or on stage?
No, guests must remain seated in the audience and cannot participate in the processional or Recognition of Graduates.

What time should I arrive at the venue, and where should I go?
Students: Please arrive at the Alaska Airlines Arena loading dock and check in between 7:45 a.m. and 8:15 a.m. After checking in, be ready to line up between 8:15 a.m. and 8:45 a.m. Please note that you will be standing during the line-up.
Faculty: Please arrive at the loading dock by 8:20 a.m. for check-in.

Can I bring my personal belongings like a purse, bag, or backpack to the ceremony?
We recommend that graduates give any personal items to their guests to hold during the ceremony, as there will be no place to store personal items. You may bring a sealed water bottle with you.
Are there any bag policies for guests? Can they bring strollers, and is ADA seating available?
Information about the venue’s bag policy and permitted items can be found here. Stroller parking is available on the same level as the entrance. ADA-accessible seating is also available — please look for event staff, who will assist guests in finding these seats.
