Northwest Pediatric Environmental Health Specialty Unit (NW PEHSU) is a program within UW that provides free children’s environmental health services. This year, we are offering blood lead testing to at-risk children at community events. NW PEHSU is looking for nurses with an active WA license to volunteer to help us with testing. Volunteers will perform capillary blood lead testing and provide education on lead poisoning prevention. Volunteers will receive training from the NW PEHSU team and a $200/event stipend for their time. Events will occur on various Saturdays and will be at various locations in the central and south Seattle area. Volunteer spots are limited.
