Graduate Student Research Institute Registration Open

Registration Open: Graduate Student Research Institute

Join the UW Libraries this summer for the eighth annual Graduate Student Research Institute (GSRI). Registration is now open.

The Graduate Student Research Institute is a free, asynchronous, multi-day online workshop offered by the UW Libraries. Its goal is to help new and returning UW graduate students research smarter, not harder.

GSRI can help you:

  • Learn skills and strategies for effective academic research
  • Become familiar with core tools and resources for research productivity
  • Connect with support units across UW campuses
  • Build community with other UW students and campus support staff

Students receive five days of online guidance and support from a team of Libraries volunteers while working through key content and activities from the openly available Graduate Student Research Institute site. There are no required meeting times, and learning can happen anytime during the workshop session.

Additional benefits for registered students include:

  • Daily tips and resources for research, using the Libraries, and being a graduate student at UW
  • Optional synchronous live events and programming

GSRI will take place during one week in fall 2026: September 14 – 18, 2026.

All incoming and current UW graduate students are welcome to register.
