UW students are invited to apply for Nursing Brazil: Health Promotion and Community Engagement, a study abroad program open to students from all disciplines. The program runs Sept. 5 to 27, 2026, with time in Londrina and São Paulo, and offers five credits through NURS 413, Health in the Context of Culture. No prerequisites or language requirements are needed, and applications are due Feb. 15, 2026.
The immersive program blends global health education, community engagement, and cultural exploration, with a focus on health promotion, equity, and aging. Students will learn alongside international experts through site visits, faculty seminars, and reflection while exploring Brazil’s public health system in community and clinical settings. Information sessions will be held on Zoom in late January and February.
