Are you a neurodivergent pre-licensure nursing student in Washington state?
A PhD candidate at the University of Washington is conducting dissertation research on how neurodivergent nursing students experience clinical simulation. The study is exploring what works—and what does not—in simulation-based learning environments from students’ perspectives. Your experiences may help advocate for more accessible and inclusive simulation environments.

- Participation is voluntary, and you can share your experiences on your terms.
You may be eligible if you:
- Are currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a pre-licensure nursing program in Washington state
- Do not yet hold an RN license
- Identify as neurodivergent, including ADHD, autism, dyslexia, dyscalculia, tic disorders, or other neurocognitive or sensory processing differences
- Have participated in at least one clinical simulation
No formal diagnosis or disclosure to your nursing program is required to participate.
What participation involves
- A short online demographic questionnaire that takes about 10 minutes
- A semistructured Zoom interview lasting 60–90 minutes
- Flexible scheduling, including the option to split the interview into multiple sessions
Compensation
Participants will receive a $60 gift card after completing the demographic questionnaire and interview.
