Virtual Volunteer Facilitator Role Supporting Youth Impacted by Cancer

Pickles Group is seeking virtual volunteer facilitators to support social-emotional programs for kids and teens (ages 6–18) whose parents or guardians are navigating cancer or who have experienced the loss of a parent or guardian to cancer.

Volunteers will help facilitate the 5-week Connect Over Cancer summer program, which takes place on Sunday afternoons beginning in July. This is a flexible, clinician-observed opportunity designed to support youth while also offering career-relevant experience.

Qualifications:

  • Graduate-level students or similarly qualified individuals in Child Life, Nursing, Oncology, Social Work, Psychology, or related fields
  • At least one year of experience working with children and families
  • Age 21 or older
  • Ability to pass a background check
  • Must be located in the United States

Training requirement: All new volunteers must attend one virtual training session:

  • Wednesday, July 8, 2026 (5–7 p.m. CT)
