- UW School of Nursing students can enter to win a $50 gift card by participating in the Anti-Racism & DEI Course Materials Project.
- This project brings students, faculty, and staff together to disrupt biased and exclusionary narratives in nursing education.
What Participation Involves
- Review assigned course materials produced outside of the UW School of Nursing.
- Identify and critique bias, including:
- White normativity and racism
- Cisnormativity and transphobia
- Ableism
- Other harmful or exclusionary assumptions
- Submit identified bias using the Submit Here! button on the project webpage.
- The submission link is also available in all Canvas syllabi under Program Resources.
Why Your Input Matters
- All submissions may be made anonymously.
- Anonymized feedback is shared with faculty and select textbook publishers to support alignment with anti-racist and DEI principles.
- Real impact: Two major nursing publishers have already agreed to revise textbook content based on submissions from UW School of Nursing students, staff, and faculty.
