Public Health – Seattle & King County is hiring a full-time Tuberculosis (TB) Public Health Nurse/Nurse Case Manager based at Harborview Medical Center. This role supports individuals and families affected by active and latent TB through direct care, education, and community partnership.
Role Overview: The Public Health Nurse provides comprehensive case management, including care coordination, contact investigation, medication management, and ongoing physical and psychosocial assessment. The position also supports community education, outreach, and collaboration with healthcare providers to strengthen TB prevention and treatment practices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage care for patients with active and latent TB
- Conduct clinic, hospital, and home visits for assessment and education
- Support treatment adherence through Directly Observed Therapy (DOT)
- Coordinate contact investigations with interdisciplinary partners
- Monitor treatment progress, side effects, and patient outcomes
- Provide counseling to address stigma and barriers to care
- Collaborate with community providers and multidisciplinary teams
- Document care in systems including Epic and TREATS
- Participate in outreach, education, and community engagement activities
Required Qualifications:
- Washington State Registered Nurse license in good standing
- Bachelor’s or graduate degree in nursing (BSN, MSN, DNP, or PhD)
- Current BLS-CPR certification
- Washington State driver’s license
- Ability to complete background check and pre-employment physical
Work Details:
- Full-time (1.0 FTE), Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m.–4:30 p.m.
- Located at Harborview Medical Center in Seattle
- May deploy statewide as part of a TB strike team
