Seattle Children’s Hospital is hiring a Postdoctoral Fellow to join the Heike McKinney Laboratory, a leading research team focused on improving clinical outcomes for children born with cleft lip and/or palate.

About the Lab: The Heike McKinney Laboratory conducts innovative research using informatics and data science approaches to enhance care for children and families affected by craniofacial conditions. The team is actively advancing clinical research and developing systems to improve health outcomes.

Role Overview: This postdoctoral position is ideal for individuals with a strong methodological background, such as epidemiology or health services research, who are interested in clinical translational research and expanding their publication portfolio.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and contribute to research on growth outcomes in children with cleft conditions
  • Publish peer-reviewed research and support ongoing lab projects
  • Advance initiatives such as developing a learning health network
  • Apply data science and informatics methods to clinical research questions

Preferred Background:

  • Strong training in research methods (e.g., epidemiology, health services research)
  • Demonstrated record of scholarly publication
  • Interest in child health and clinical outcomes research
  • Experience in craniofacial research is helpful but not required
