Position overview: The School of Nursing will be joining the College of Engineering and the School of Dentistry in offering programming to high school students at the Chehalis STEM camp August 3-6, 2026. The office of the dean seeks 3-4 individuals to assist with planning, preparing, and executing camp activities on-site in Chehalis. This role provides hands-on experience supporting high school STEM engagement and nursing education outreach.

Compensation:
- Undergraduate students: $25/hour
- Graduate students:
- Premaster: $49.25/hour
- Intermediate: $51.74/hour
- Candidate: $54.33/hour
Estimated time commitment:
- June 16–July 16: 2–3 hours/week
- July 17–August 1: 3–4 hours/week
- Week of August 1: up to 20 hours
Key responsibilities:
- Attend bi-weekly planning meetings (approximately 90 minutes) with faculty
- Provide input on camp activities and logistics
- Prepare materials and supplies for programming
- Support faculty in delivering on-site STEM camp activities
Minimum requirements:
- Current nursing student (summer enrollment not required)
- If employed elsewhere within UW, combined appointments must not exceed 50%
Desired qualifications:
- Graduate-level student with recent nursing experience
- Experience developing or delivering lesson plans, or prior Nurse Camp volunteer experience
Conditions of employment:
- Availability during business hours (9 a.m.–5 p.m. PT) for weekly planning meetings
- Required on-site participation in Chehalis August 3–4 (lodging, meals, and mileage provided as needed)
- If employed elsewhere within UW, combined appointments must not exceed 50%
