GSEE Virtual New Student Welcome for Incoming Graduate Students

Registration is now open

The Office of Graduate Student Equity & Excellence (GSEE) is hosting a virtual New Student Welcome on Wednesday, July 29 from 1 – 2:30 p.m. PDT via Zoom.

We need your help inviting incoming graduate students from diverse perspectives and experiences to register for this event.

Register for GSEE’s New Student Welcome.

About the event

GSEE is excited to welcome incoming graduate students from diverse perspectives and experiences. The office works to create a social environment where all graduate students can learn and thrive at the UW.

We know that moving to a new city, region, or country for graduate school can be challenging. We also recognize that returning to academic life after time in the workforce can feel overwhelming. GSEE is here to help students build community and a sense of belonging as they begin their graduate school journey.

This virtual meet-and-greet is for incoming master’s, Ph.D., and professional students. The program will include a student panel and breakout rooms focused on transitioning to the UW. Past topics have included community building, student activism and advocacy, navigating housing, and open conversation.

Important note

This virtual New Student Welcome is different from GSEE’s signature fall quarter in-person event, Community Connections. The New Student Welcome is designed to support new and incoming graduate students as they transition to the UW. During fall quarter, GSEE and GSA host Community Connections as a space for incoming and returning students to gather, make new connections, and reconnect with one another.

We look forward to seeing your incoming students virtually soon!
