Graduate Student Research Institute
Join UW Libraries this summer for the eighth annual Graduate Student Research Institute (GSRI).
GSRI is a free, asynchronous multiday online workshop offered by UW Libraries to help new and returning UW graduate students research smarter, not harder.
What GSRI can help you do
- Learn skills and strategies for effective academic research
- Become familiar with core tools and resources for research productivity
- Connect with relevant support units across UW campuses
- Build community with other UW students and campus support staff
Students receive five days of online guidance and support from a team of Libraries volunteers while working through key content and activities from the Graduate Student Research Institute site.
There are no required meeting times, and students can complete the workshop activities at any time during the session.

- Optional synchronous live events and programming
GSRI will take place Sept. 14-18, 2026.
